Yes, we are aware of this. FF Flash doesn't seem to crash if you just let FF render it. It's when you actually install and run the plug in that it crashes. That's being looked at this morning.henryg wrote:5.01.6 plugin-container crashing EVERY time I try to load Firefox 40 latest. Win7x64.

Henry, you might like to test disabling flash protected mode to see if it makes a difference for you. You can do it sandboxed to check it out. In about:config, change the preference below to true, that disables protected mode.henryg wrote:5.01.6 plugin-container crashing EVERY time I try to load Firefox 40 latest. Win7x64.

There should be a patch later today. That's if you really need to have the Flash plug in installed. Otherwise it'll render in HTML5 in FFbo.elam wrote:Henry, you might like to test disabling flash protected mode to see if it makes a difference for you. You can do it sandboxed to check it out. Thats good news, Craig. I am not having any kind of issues in W7 32 bits with the latest but in my XP, I have to disable plugin container to keep the plugin from crashing. After disabling the plugin, all works great in that PC with 5.01.6.Craig@Invincea wrote: There should be a patch later today. That's if you really need to have the plug in installed.

Hi Bo
Yes, it seems that I m running Flash in protected as you guessed; and tbh I hadn't realised.
I'll try disabling flash completely and see if things still work as I would prefer not to use it anyway. But I suspect sites which I use for eg Excel videos may not work. But I hope it is ok without.

Update: working with 5.01.6 beta. Great!rational_24 wrote:I am unable to install PornTime http://porntime.ws/setup.exe in a sandbox on a Windows 10 64-bit PC.
It used to work fine with Windows 8.1 (I used the latest stable version of Sandboxie). For Windows 10, I removed that completely and downloaded 5.01.4 beta and the installer failed to elevate.
With the new 5.01.5 beta, it does elevate, but then nothing happens. Also, Sandboxie Control shows that no processes are running in the sandbox any longer.

but..as i stated, its doing the same thing in windows 7, theres no direct x 12 here, & im testing it here first before i put 10 back on another hdd. if its still having the same problem on 7 then u guys might be looking at the wrong placesCraig@Invincea wrote:Probably related to Direct X12 Drivers in W10. Ah, didn't know you are running 7. We do know that Steam does indeed work on 7/8.1Yuno wrote:but..as i stated, its doing the same thing in windows 7, theres no direct x 12 here, & im testing it here first before i put 10 back on another hdd. if its still having the same problem on 7 then u guys might be looking at the wrong placesCraig@Invincea wrote:Probably related to Direct X12 Drivers in W10. Perhaps it isn't DirectX 12 but one of the changes made to the client to allow it to work in 10 that is causing issues then.

we're still leaning towards x12. but that requires testing outside of a VM (to take it our of the loop) and a directX12 capable card.dinks wrote:Perhaps it isn't DirectX 12 but one of the changes made to the client to allow it to work in 10 that is causing issues then.

Well I'm sure you all know better than me so, whenever you get it you get it lol.Craig@Invincea wrote:we're still leaning towards x12. but that requires testing outside of a VM (to take it our of the loop) and a directX12 capable card.dinks wrote:Perhaps it isn't DirectX 12 but one of the changes made to the client to allow it to work in 10 that is causing issues then.

Great, your latest version has fixed the Firefox issue for me. Thanks!
Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01.6)
i was on windows 10, found the problem, got sick of windows 10 also for other reasons & reformatted to 7Craig@Invincea wrote:Ah, didn't know you are running 7. We do know that Steam does indeed work on 7/8.1
now that im on 7, i tried the same betas again, they have the same issue as they do on 10
when i use 4.20 on 7 all is fine they all work, theres no working version of sbie for 10 since 4.20 doesnt run on 10
thats why i question how its anything with dx 12, for the steam games quitting issue, when 7 has 0 dx 12 in it. i think it would be easier to have the latest beta fix that problem on 7 first, check it on 10, if fixed then push that as the next beta. the only dx 12 application i have is the dx 12 api test in 3dmark which is on steam, cant test it in any mode through sbie though since nothing steam tries to launch will run in sbie, not even windows media player or notepad as custom status run in the sbx
this is on my laptop which has i7 4710mq & gtx 965m, which is 2nd gen maxwell & dx 12 ready, when i was on 10 for a bit the 3dmark dx 12 api test did run fine, & very fast, natively without sbie

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01.6)
All I can say is that SBiE works on 7 using v4.20 (stable version) and on 8.1. Others have reported this and I have tested that. win10 introduced a whole new set of major changes on how programs interact with it.
Most games that seemed to work in 7,8.1 are not working in 10. What's the issue? Devs are looking into that. I cannot give an ETA because we honestly don't know
