Lose Activation of Roboform When Running Firefox Sandboxed.

Post by Silver0066 » Sun Apr 29, 2007 12:36 pm

I just Registered Sandboxie, checked it to Force Firefox and now when I start Firefox, my Roboform Toolbar states that it is not activated.

Anyone have any suggestions eliminate this error when running Firefox with this option?

Many thanks,

Roboform

Although I do not have an answer to your question, I am able to run the latest nightly build of firefox (Bon Echo V 2.0.0.4pre 20070428) sandboxed with the roboform (V 6.9.2) toolbar.

In order to save the bookmarks, I added the following to my Sandboxi.ini file:

OpenFilePath=firefox.exe,%Personal%\My RoboForm Data

Hope this helps.

Yeah i can run FF 2.0.0.3 and latest roboform just fine in SBIE, without having to add anything to my ini file to do it. :?

Something is wrong then. I tried your suggestion - it did not correct the problem.

I am running Firefox 2.0.3, Roboform Pro 6.92 Registered. No problem if I open Firefox without Sandboxie. When opening from Sandboxie, I get the not actvated box from Roboform.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Tzuk?

Many thanks,

hmm, ok then the only thing i can think is that maybe for some reason (with you) when you run FF sbxd, roboform has a problem reading from the roboform license file, if so, try opeing the path to your roboform license file and see if that works, if not then the only thing i can think is to see if either something is conflicting on your pc or you can just try tracing.

This is very strange. I installed Sandboxie on my laptop where I also have Firefox 2.0.3 and Roboform Pro 6.92. I still get the Activate Roboform error.

How do you do a trace?

I paid for Sandboxie and it is useless to me without Roboform.

Tzuk, or anyone, can you help me?

Many thanks,

To do a trace just download debugview http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... gview.mspx and then refer to this documentation http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SandboxieTrace, good luck man.

Are you able to run firefox unsanboxed and have roboform work correctly?

There is an old topic dealing with this issue:

http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=459

In short, the poster in that topic found out that if he put the sandbox on drive C, RoboForm sees it's activated. On any other drive, it fails to activate.

Does this apply to you, Silver0066?

That was it. I had Sandboxie on Drive D. I moved it to C, now everything is OK.

Many thanks to you all for your help.

Apparently I'm having the same problem with the sandboxes on the F drive. However, I do not have that much space left on the C drive.

Would it be possible to have the sandbox for, say Firefox and Roboform, on the C drive and the sandbox for Emule ( which needs much more space) on the F drive?

Yes, you can set a different FileRootPath setting for each sandbox.

Tzuk, Thanks very much for your answer. However, I've looked into the FileRootPath settings and tried different setups but I'm afraid I can't get it to work. I'm lost

Could you please elaborate this a bit more with examples as to how to get the two sandboxes? One with Firefox and Roboform forced on the C drive and one sandbox for Emule forced on the F drive?

I keep getting only the original boxroot sandboxes on F irrespective of what setting I write in Sandbox ini and I also wonder how to force Firefox to be sanboxed on C and Emule on F.
