ClamWin Portable for Applications=>Security/Privacy

Post by lwc » Wed Jul 07, 2010 8:16 pm

Can you make it? Until then, can anyone make a local template to run it unsandboxed?

If it must run sandboxed, can you make it do these 3 things:
  1. Stop asking to recover log\ClamScanLog.txt (AutoRecoverIgnore doesn't seem to support it)
  2. Deal with Data\settings\ClamWin.conf (being re-created)
  3. Deal with clamwin\bin\ClamWin.conf (is it really needed to create this file on the fly?)
?

Thanks!

I'd prefer you add a link to the specific software you're talking about, so I can experiment with it myself.

This seems to bypass the sandbox:

Code: Select all

[Template_Local_ClamWinPortable]

Tmpl.Title=ClamWin Portable
OpenPipePath=clamwinportable.exe,something\ClamWinPortable\
OpenPipePath=clamwin.exe,something\ClamWinPortable\
ReadFilePath=clamwin.exe,something\ClamWinPortable\Data\log\
Tmpl.Class=Local
Though I'm not sure why both EXE files are needed.

???
It can't be that this template actually works "out of the box" with this "..something.." in it?

"something" is just a general example. For you, it would be c:\clamwinportable\, for someone else it would be d:\bla\clamwinportable, etc.

I'm still not sure I fully understand, but I guess thing will become clearer when I test ClamWin Portable.

I'm guessing that since it's a portable version of the program, it's folder location cannot be known in advance.
It can be placed anywhere.
So it's probably necessary to use a wild card for the path.
Maybe "something" like this would work:

[Template_Local_ClamWinPortable]

Tmpl.Title=ClamWin Portable
OpenPipePath=clamwinportable.exe,*\ClamWinPortable\*
OpenPipePath=clamwin.exe,*\ClamWinPortable\*
ReadFilePath=clamwin.exe,*\ClamWinPortable\Data\log\*
Tmpl.Class=Local
