AVASt and sandboxie incompatibility warning?

I understand from here that sandboxie 4.08 and below was incompatible but from 4.09 above is compatible. Then why when i installed the latest sandboxie 4.15, the avast antivurs incompatibility message is still there?? The link refers to the sandboxie page where it says sandboxie above 4.09 onward should be compatible. So shouldn't the warning be removed or is it still incompatible with avast?? This is confusing.

Hi taleblou, I am not using Avast but if you mean that you got a Sandboxie message telling you about software compatibility settings being available, then that means that there are settings available that were developed by Sandboxie to make Avast and Sandboxie work better. If you did not enabled this settings when you got the message after installing 4.15.5, you can do so in Configure>Software compatibility.

I agree with taleblou that it is confusing. I have been using SB for many years on different systems but just installed on my laptop that happens to run avast. While it is on the compatibility page, it refers to known conflicts and if you go to that page it tells you:

Problem: Sandboxie version 4.08 and below is incompatible with avast! Antivirus to some small extent. 4.09 and above are compatible with Avast.

Solution: Adjust shield settings in avast. In the SECURITY tab of the main avast! window:

- Click Mail Shield icon, click Settings button. In SSL scanning page, clear setting: Scan SSL connections.

- Click Behavior Shield icon, click Settings button. In main settings page, clear setting: Monitor the system for unauthorized modifications

so, do I ignore this as I installed Version 14? The solution mentioned -is that for everyone to make SB and Avast compatible or only users on versions prior to 4.09 need to use this trick and it's compatible now by default on the more recent versions?

Hi mouse, I agree, it is confusing. More so since the Avast settings mentioned in the Sandboxie link don't exist anymore. The information in that webpage regarding Avast as far as I know, its obsolete. I think you can ignore it but apply the Software compatibility settings for Avast in Configure>Software compatibility.
