how to show OSD in sandboxed games?

I'm using HWinfo and the MSI Display Server (part of the MSI Afterburner package) to read and display hardware information in an overlay in the games I play. However when running games inside a sandbox, that OSD no longer shows. Is there a way to get said OSD to show again?
