Url bug?

Post by SnDPhoenix » Sun Jul 15, 2007 11:46 am

Well i tried installing this one program sandboxed (Apex Video Converter Super http://www.tompegx.com/video-converter-super.html) and one of the things it does during its setup is installs .url files (pointing back to their site). Well when it tried to install those .url files into the sandbox, it failed, and the setup file said how it cant install *.url, so i just hit ignore (the other 2 options were retry or cancel) and i had to do the same thing for all the other .url files til the setup was done. (I havent been able to find any other setups that install .url files, if so can you tell me, i'd love to see if this problem occurs in other setups too), well while i was on a ".url roll", i decided to try another .url thing, i went ahead and started a sandboxed instance of Windows Explorer, then i went ahead and rightclicked and selected "New -> Shortcut" and i filled in the space with "Http://Sandboxie.com" :P and gave it the name Sandboxie. Well when i opened the Sandboxie.url file, it opened in FF (which is normal), but heres the weird thing, FF started as a first run, (maybe another .url bug?). Can anybody else confirm both (or atleast 1) of these "bugs"?

I had no problems at all installing Apex Video Converter Super, and this includes some codecs that it wanted to install.

I didn't try the other thing, the one with Firefox.

Yes, i can install the program fine too, the problem though was just with the .url files, but it doesnt matter now cause 1. i tried installing it again, and i didnt get any problems this time with the .url files, and 2. about that ff openin as first run, well it hasnt done it again since then, so everythings working fine now, i guess it must've just been a fluke. :?
