Explorer.exe and Dr. Watson.exe - Crashed!
Hey.
I just wanted to ask, if it's normal:
I got a sandboxed IE. I copyed some text and made right click on the Desktop.
Suddenly Explorer.exe and Dr. Warson.exe crashed.
This happenes every time.
Is this, because of SandboxIE?

If you copied text from a sandboxed program such as IE, to the clipboard, you should be able to right-click on the Desktop and create a file there. So, no, it should not crash explorer.exe and Dr Watson. That works fine for me, using a sandboxed Firefox as the source of the text. (I'm using Sandboxie version 3.01.21)
On the other hand, trying to drag a link between a sandboxed and an unsandboxed browser is known to cause a crash for some users (myself included). Tzuk says he will investigate because dragging a link like that should not succeed, but it shouldn't cause a crash either. At least, that's my understanding.
Do you get crashes like that when you aren't using any sandboxed program?

XP Pro SP3
3.20.0.0 and earlier versions.Which version of Sandboxie are we talking about here?
I know - but it happens, when i make right-klick on my desktopDragging could crash Explorer
If i make left-klick on my desktop and after that a right-klick, nothing happens - everything's fine
And the weird thing - this problem is only by having a sandboxed IE in in my taskbar...
ThanksFYI, you don't have to reboot. You can press Ctrl+Shift+ESC, that brings up Task Manager. Then you switch to the Process tab and click End Process on everything that is called "drwtsn" or similar. Finally, use the File menu | Run action to start explorer.exe.
Good advice

So, I don't have anything else than you - and I have nothing manipulated by myself.
The Eventlog says: Explorer.exe failed modul ole32.dll (0x00072f6f)
So I guess, it hasn't anything to do with Sandboxie - what do you think?
I experienced a similar thing today, first time ever, and have only been trying Sandboxie for a couple days. (Explorer.exe, module ole32.dll, then Dr. Watson crash). Using sandboxed IE6, I had downloaded a .rar file onto the desktop (desktop=OpenPipePath) and realized that I needed a password to open it using Winrar. I went back to the web site (using IE6SP2) found the .rar password, highlighted and copied the text (to the clipboard) minimized IE6 and then right-clicked the .rar file that was on the Desktop to extract the files. At the instant I right-clicked on the .rar file on the desktop, the error began. So we both have it in common using IE and highlighting/copying some text minimizing sandboxed IE and right clicking (something) on desktop.Xerye wrote:Thanks for reply
You're right - in the Log is ole32.dll mentioned.
Do you know anything about my problem?
So I stopped using Sandboxie for a bit, because I can't think of anything else it may be. I found a Microsoft hotfix that I was going to try (KB922668)...I'm using the hotfix right now with no problems yet, but have yet to re-install Sandboxie.
Sandboxie 3.20
XPSP2
IE6SP2
