Secure deletion flaw ?

Post by heennnshhiinn-pikaboo » Fri Nov 02, 2012 3:06 am

Hello,

I set my sandbox to securely empty itself with eraser when the sandbox becomes inactive and I was wondering if the secure deletion is correctly working in this case:

1)Opens sandboxed browser
2)browse google images
3)clear the cache so that images are deleted and no longer listed in windows explorer (not secure delete)
4)close the browser and eraser clean the sandbox with secure deletion

After step 4 were the images insecurely cleared in step 3 correctly securely deleted ? Because they were already deleted in an unsecure manner in step 3 and no longer listed in windows explorer.

That's very true, so I suggest that you put the sandbox on a TrueCrypt drive if you're concerned about the privacy of your data.

Thanks for answering :D
I put the sandbox on a ramdisk :) so it's okay.
