Re: Multi-process Firefox 51 - Blank pages
you can find the solution above.
Firefox does not work in Sbie but IE does.
Dear all,
since the last update of Windows 10 Firefox does not work sandboxed. It starts but Firefox does not load pages and displays them. This is only on my laptop. On my desktop no problem. Tested Firefox portable, same issue.
Sbie Version 5.16 (64 bits)
Antivirus: Avira (Germany)
Windows 10
I already tried installing both Firefox and Sandboxie new from scratch, no improvement.
anybody any idea or suggestions? Thanks for possible help.

Unable to display Firefox contents within Sandboxie
Win10 64 bit;
Sandboxie 5116 64 bit
Firefox v 51 64 bit or 52 64 bit
Windows Defender 1.237.951.0
I am unable to use FF to display any web page contents when it is run under Sandboxie.
However, FF runs fine outside of Sandboxie.
If I use older version FF (like FF 50.0.2), it is fine when run within Sandboxie.
Please help.

Sbie 5.16 Firefox has no access to Internet when boxed
Windows 10 - Sandboxie 5.14 and 5.16 - Firefox 52.0 - Intel i5
Sandboxie Registration - GAK! I haven't used my reg key for so long that I cannot find it! I've used Sandboxie for many years.
Version 5.16 is working fine on all of my machines.
No so with my friend Leo's machine (Dell laptop with AMD cpu and Windows 10 - Sandboxie 5.16 - Firefox 52.0).
After years of working fine on his machine, suddenly Firefox seems to have no access to anything. I created a local home page for him a long time ago,
but it no longer loads. (c:\ProgramData\Web\LocalHomePage\Leo_index.htm).
In fact, nothing will load ... not even URL's directly entered ... to Google for example.
Firefox loads the page and behaves normally when started outside of a sandbox.
Sandboxie is issuing no error messages. I did not disable any messaging in Sandboxie.
Things I've tried:
1. I added the home page to the direct access list
2. I uninstalled Sdbie 5.14 and installed 5.16 ... I opted to delete all settings when uninstalling.
Results: nothing changed - I have no idea what is happening.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Multi-process Firefox 51 - Blank pages
Out of the frying pan, into the fire.
As I was making the change to Firefox configuration to disable, what was it called, multiprocess architecture?, Firefox informed me that it was installing an update to version 52.0. Now, firefox will not run at all in a sandbox. It says "XULRunner: Platform 52.0 is not compatible ... minVersion <= 51.0 ..."
Firefox does run ok outside of a sandbox. Even so, I deleted it and reinstalled it to no effect.
The Mozilla site says that restarting the machine may fix this error: it didn't.
It further says that this is almost certainly caused by security software.
I use Sandboxie, the Window 10 Firewall and Windows Defender ... nothing more.
I'm guessing that this fix may take awhile given what I've read in other posts. I can set my friend up with a different browser until it is fixed.
Thanks for your help.

Hello JimOfCR ,
Please use the forum's search feature, the Xulrunner issue has been reported several times and there is a simple fix (clear your Sandbox):
http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... er#p126062
You should always update your browsers outside Sandboxie..

Barb.-

Re: Multi-process Firefox 51 - Blank pages
Thank you all for posting this solution! I encountered this problem on a new Windows 10 install, and after finding this thread, changed "browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false" to allow using Firefox 52.0.1 within Sandboxie 5.16.
I'll keep watching for Sandboxie software updates. Also, considering the advise from one of the posted links ("I am a developer who works on sandboxing at Mozilla. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST tampering with the sandboxing level!"), I would shy away from changing that particular setting.
