Driver Activation fails

Post by Unknown_User_423 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 12:49 am

My PC is run by windows xp sp2. The processor is AMD ATHLON (1.0 GHz) and the graphics card is S3 Graphics ProSavage.

I used Sandboxie 2.64 without facing any problems for two to three weeks and then uninstalled it so that I could install version 2.80. The installation of Sandboxie 2.80 and its driver completed successfully, but the driver failed to start. The following message appeared: Failed. Aborting Operation. The same thing happened in case of version 2.82 and version 2.84. I then decided to install version 2.64 again, but even that failed to solve the problem.

The following error entries are present in the event viewer:

Error 3/31/2007 11:20:48 AM 9153 SbieSvc None N/A IBM-DACBB4A62DF
SBIE9153 Cannot start driver (SbieDrv)

Error 3/31/2007 11:20:48 AM 1116 SbieDrv None N/A IBM-DACBB4A62DF
SBIE1116 Driver failed to register process notification routine [C000000D / 11]

Error 3/31/2007 11:20:48 AM 1103 SbieDrv None N/A IBM-DACBB4A62DF
SBIE1103 SbieDrv driver [version 2.80] could not start

Error 3/31/2007 11:20:48 AM 7000 Service Control Manager None N/A IBM-DACBB4A62DF
The SbieDrv service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.

My computer has been functioning nicely for the last four years and none of the devices has experienced any problem. I fail to understand which device is not functioning. What can be done to solve this problem? Please see to it that future versions of the software address this issue. I understand this problem has been encountered by several people in the past. Please don't expect me to uninstall Avast Antivirus and ZoneAlarm Free and WinPatrol in order to use sandboxie. Users of other sandboxing programs don't encounter such 'CONFLICTS' during the installation procedure. Sandboxie is a wonderful utility and people expect you to deal with the issue as promptly as possible.

No offense friend, but that last statement is nonsense.. Sandboxes have caused system failures. Myself, before I landed on Sandboxie, I tested many of the programs.. MANY of them had conflicts.

Yes, Sandboxie is a great program.. I'm sure the developer will get to your problem, as his time allows..

Thanks, I'm glad you like Sandboxie. I suppose it's reasonable to expect support, but you can't expect me to drop everything whenever you or anyone posts a problem.

The people you speak of should realize this forum has more than 5,500 messages at this time, so certainly some problems have already been discussed. The Search button is your friend.

And of course you paid for the program, thus expecting the support?
