3.0.8 conflicts with jetico firewall v1

Post by alucard » Sun Jul 29, 2007 7:48 pm

After ghost restore of a clean XP SP2 I've installed Jetico v1 and the newest Sandboxie. Previously i used 3.0.0 which worked fine with Jetico.

When I right click to run program sandboxed, empty yellow icon appears in tray, and thats it. No errors, nothing happens. Shortcuts in sandboxie menu don't work either. If I delete the sandbox folder, and try to run something then 2 "reghive" files are created in defaultbox. Service is running and driver message from event viewer says "SBIE1101 Sandboxie driver (SbieDrv) version 3.00.08 initialized".

After I uninstalled Jetico and rebooted, Sandboxie works correctly. Please look into it.

Did you install 3.0.8 , and reboot after installing jetico V1?

What im doing:

1. Uninstall SandBoxie
2. Reboot
3. Uninstall Jetico
4. Reboot
5. Install Sandboxie - works fine
6. Install Jetico
7. Reboot
8. Sandboxie stops working

i have tried the trace method with debug view and it always ends with:

(many registry entries)
(001996) SBIE (FD) 00000001.0F.FFFFFFFF \Device\NamedPipe\wkssvc
(001996) SBIE (IA) 001F0001 \RPC Control\SbieSvcPort

Any ideas?

I installed, and got the same effect of a disabled Sandboxie. One small experiment later, and I even got a BSOD. :) I will look into this incompatibility in more depth, and post an update later on.
