Thanks for taking version 4.01 for a short test drive, guys, I appreciate that. I have a couple of things I still need to add to be able to say that 4.01 is the same as 3.76 in terms of what it supports and what it can do. Then I'll look into your problem reports here. So I have to ask for your patience in advance. Thanks!

aladdin wrote:I have Sandboxie and Appguard and both working perfectly with each other until v3.76. My OS is Windows 7 x64.

I uninstalled the earlier v3.76 and installed the beta v4.01 and I am getting the following errors:

When Appguard is set to "Off"
Error: SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (C0000005)

When Appguard is set to "High"
Error: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process firefox.exe [33 / 5]

Any help will be appreciated.

Best regards,

Reason for edit (error correction): It should say Sandboxie v3.76 and not v3.74.
Found the solutions:

For When: Appguard is set to "High"
For Error: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process firefox.exe [33 / 5]

Solution: In Appguard > Advanced > Memory Guard give "ReadWrite" permission to sbiesvc.exe. This solution was posted by member SLE at Wilders Security.

For Error: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process firefox.exe [33 / 5]

Solution: Disable Avast > Behavioral Shield. However, when opening Firefox, most of the time the Windows Explorer crashes.

Best regards,

aladdin

Subsequent to my above post, the Windows Explorer crashes when it is closed. However, when it is opened and something is being copied and when I try to open the Firefox, I get the following error, while the Windows Explorer crashes:

Error: SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - firefox.exe [00000102]

Crash Dump Analysis

Post by nihil95 » Fri Jan 25, 2013 11:41 am

On Mon 1/21/2013 9:46:51 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\012113-4609-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: sbiedrv.sys (SbieDrv+0x921C)
Bugcheck code: 0x1E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF8800481321C, 0x0, 0x60)
Error: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: sbiedrv.sys .
Google query: sbiedrv.sys KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Crashed after being idle.

Thanks, and sorry about that. I got this crash once a few weeks ago, but I couldn't figure it out at the time.

Windows Explorer crashes

Post by hx1997 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 9:12 pm

I'm using Windows 7 x64. Today after system startup, I launched Opera, which is a forced program. Then Windows Explorer started to crash. After recovery, it crashed again. Same thing happened again and again, so I killed Opera with Task Manager, and everything went OK. When I ran Opera a second time, the problem went away. Don't know if it has anything to do with Sandboxie, but I have a "crash report" thing.

SOLVED

ok, i found out the cause of the issue i posted earlier,

it is an incompatibility with Webroot SA complete, i had it uninstalled since i can't find the precise cause then Sbie launches correctly. (issue for chrome and firefox)

In fact, Webroot SA Identity Shield is set to "protects" the browsers, the crash mentionned above appears.

Firefox Print Preview Broken

Post by 0strodamus » Sun Feb 03, 2013 1:49 pm

Firefox 18.0.1 print preview is not working with beta 4.01 under Windows 7 x64. Installed in a VM for testing with nothing else installed. Print preview works in IE8. Print preview in Firefox displays a blank page (this is with the default XPS printer - I also tried PDF-XChange without success). I tried setting File, Registry, IPC, Window, and COM Access settings all to * without success. Uninstalling the beta and installing 3.76 works fine.

Thank you for staying interested. :-) Been a bit busy recently, but next beta is coming soon, I hope.

Licence activation problem.

Post by henri » Sun Feb 10, 2013 3:29 pm

Hi

I have dual boot w8/w7 both 32 bits. With 4.01 in windows 8, every time I logon I need to activate licence. I have the same dual boot in another computer (x64 bits) but don´t have this problem. With 3.76 I don´t have this problem.
