Toggle Key for unsandboxing the sandboxed

Post by GuesttWatt » Thu Mar 06, 2008 12:21 pm

What about a toggle key state feature for starting programs sandboxed and unsandboxed? For example, when a given, special key, preset by the user, is on, programs listed to forcibly run sandboxed would actually run (temporiraly) UNSANDBOXED. The keys to use could be Num Lock, Scroll Lock and maybe others (?). ;)

My browsers run by default sandboxed. If I do want to run without the sandbox, I right click the sB icon and disable forced programs, then open the browser normally. Seems pretty quick to me.

Well personally, I think unsandboxing the sandbox would be stupid, but, one toggle key I would like to see, would be for "Terminate all programs"..

The way it works, you need to use the system tray icon to access "Terminate all programs", well that really sucks when you encounter a huge barage of popups or something that keep you from being able to access the tray icon!

But instead, if we had a hotkey, then no matter how much junk we are being flooded with, we could just click "Ctrl-Shift-t" (just an example) and it would terminate all programs without using the tray icon!

Tzuk gave me a tip a while back, but I´m not sure if it still works with the newest versions: make a shortcut (I put it in quick launch) with this target (I really love this feature! :D ):
"C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /terminate

Hey cool, cause then I could make a shorcut, and then assign that shortcut a hotkey! :)

Ok, that's doable. In some future version I will add an option to Start.exe to put the "disable forced programs mode" into effect, then it will be possible to create a shortcut+hotkey for this command.
