Hi,
I've noticed that Sandboxie loses a lot of performance that affects gaming,
and other resource intensive tasks. In particular the 4K reads/writes. Please, look
into this if possible. I love the program.

I tested the benchmark directly (no Ram disk) and did not notice a significant difference between the results.
I then tested using the Ram Disk software that you provided, and there was also a very small (between 100-200 megs) difference.
Were you running anything else at the time of conducting the tests?
What issues are you noticing when gaming? Also, what OS are you running? Any AV installed?

I never bothered to run a benchmark inside myself. I could see how it might impact them however especially with the reads as it always checks the sandbox first then moves on to the real system and after seeing all the 'failed' read paths in procmon I never doubted it could impact things. With most games I've never noticed a real perceivable difference but with some games it was not possible to deny.
The ones that stick in my head are some KingsIsle games called Wizard101 & Pirate101. They have many thousands of small files (most of which are downloaded after you login and start playing and as needed). I had the directory listed as an OpenPipePath so technically there should be no reason for SBIE to continue checking the Sandbox first but of course it always does. With the Sandbox directory on the same HDD as the game I had quite a bit of lag where none existed outside of SBIE. When I put them both on a SSD this extra lag all but vanished.
At the same time, larger and more resource intensive games like Dragon Age Inquisition have very little added lag even if kept on the same HDD as the box for me. Usually just a minor hitch at startup. Go figure!
Seeing as you are testing on a RAMDisk, I'd expect to see nearly no difference as there isn't any hardware involved. I wonder if perhaps it could possibly have to do with the A\B drives normally being reserved for outdated reasons. I don't suppose the results would be any different if you create the ramdisk and assign it a different letter, D-Z?

My current theory: Sandboxie applies file-caching. This serves as a bottleneck, for devices able to reach 1300 MB/s and above (4K, 4KQTD).
As you can see, the variation on the SSD live vs sandboxed, is minor. Out of curisoity, what speeds are you getting in your setup? Ramdisk, in particular.

Deep queue 4k... is the my only average score, the rest beats all their top scores.

I just wish for less of a performance hit whit high-speed ramdisks.
Syrinx mentioned how he noticed its effects. I'll just provide you some more feedback.
MMO's, and online gaming, espcially with PvP zoning and similar scenarious. E-sports.
It varies from game to game, or application; and even enviroment.
