Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64 with KB4056897 /KB4056894 installed.
Sandboxie Beta 5.23.3

- Internet Explorer 11 (with KB4056568 installed Jan 2018): ran OK while being sandboxed in Sandboxie
- Google Chrome x64 version 63.0.3239.132: ran OK while being sandboxed in Sandboxie
- Opera version 50.0.2762.45: ran OK while being sandboxed in Sandboxie

---> Firefox x64 version 57.0.4: crashed immediately while being sandboxed in Sandboxie, ran OK outside of Sandboxie

In Firefox, changing "security.sandbox.content.level" to value less than 3 did not help.

All,

UPDATE:
I installed Office 2013 and had no issues launching Word / Excel in the Sandbox.
If you are still unable to run the application, please try a new sandbox with default settings. If the issue persists, please reply in this thread:

I am working on downgrading a VM to office 2013 so I can test the issue. I did not see any problems with 2016 (I launched Word and typed some random stuff without issues).
Can I get more details as to what's going on? Is there an error message?
Does Office 2013 work fine outside Sandboxie after the new KB update?

Regards,
Barb.-

@JustFax You can also uninstall the update and resume with 5.22 till things are clearing up and Sandboxie releases the non-beta 5.23.

Some experts, like Woody Leonard, advise not to install any Windows updates yet:
"Windows, Meltdown and Spectre: Keep calm and carry on" https://www.computerworld.com/article/3 ... ry-on.html
Yeah well, IMHO he's more of an expert at self promotion than a technical expert.

But having said that people I do really trust say these exploits are both at worst very awkward and inefficient ways for malware to access a few bytes of something random that 99.99% of the time isn't anything worth stealing at all.
