Why does deleting bookmarks work in sandboxed Firefox?

If it's not about a problem in the program

Why does deleting bookmarks work in sandboxed Firefox?

Post by peter smythe » Tue Dec 27, 2016 8:03 am

Hello,

i just tried sandboxie. So i started Firefox in sandboxed mode, deleted a bookmark, closed sandboxed Firefox, opened normal Firefox, and the bookmark was there also deleted.
I think this is not ok and I now doubt the usefulness and integrity of sandboxie.

Hello peter smythe,

Are you using any Firefox templates? To check, right-click on your Sandbox --> Sandbox Settings ---> Applications ---> Web browser ---> Firefox
In there, look for "Allow direct access to Firefox bookmark and history database" . If that option is checked, then you are allowing Sandboxed Firefox to modify bookmarks.

See what else is checked in there as well to ensure you have it setup to your liking, and then give it another try.

If you are still experiencing issues, please provide your OS, Firefox and AV versions so that I can test it.

Regards,
Barb.-
