Move Sandbox folder

Post by UPieper » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:44 am

Hi,

I´d like to move my sandbox container folder to a faster ssd-disk. On the "set container folder" screen there's a note saying "that I should delete all contents in all sandboxes before moving the container folder". Since I have so many separate dedicated sandboxes I'd really like to avoid that. So my question really is if there's a way to avoid that? Maybe by doing a search and replace in some ini files?

Thanks in advance for any tips

Max

You should take that note to mean: Don't forget to delete your old sandboxes in the old container folder.

There is no problem with moving everything to another location and then changing the top level folder.

A question which popped up in my head when I was moving my sandboxes:

Is it possible to define multiple container folders? I'm asking because I have a couple of games installed in sandboxes which occupy >10GB each. I would like to keep them on my "normal" drive, since there's not enough space on my SSD.

If this is not possible, could it be added to Sandboxie? I think that would be a nice feature

Regards,

Max

It's possible, but you need to manually edit the configuration file and insert FileRootPath settings for each sandbox that should use a non-default location. More here:

You really have thought of everything by now haven't you?

Glad I searched before asking, the FileRootPath parameter was exactly what I was looking for, nice work!
