I've only downloaded most diffused setup files like Adobe reader DC and Google Earth Pro: a few minutes ago, Mozilla Thunderbird 52 and, after switching to a new tab on Chrome, the Quick Recovery window has finally popped up! You're right!

Firefox HW H264 decoding is broken (5.17.6) when running inside sandboxie and youtube videos fail to play with a "Media resource could not be decoded" error in the web dev console. Running outside sandbox works perfectly with HW playback (after removing "media.hardware-video-decoding.failed" in about:config). I tried using Resource Access Monitor but I could not identify relevant missing Ipcs to make this work.

Hello, now that Windows 10 creator's update is official, I decided to upgrade to the latest version of windows early this time. Fortunately, all of my programs work properly after the update, but unfortunately, sandboxie is an exception. I'm running sandboxie stable 5.16 and whenever I try to launch ANY application inside a sandbox, I get this error.



Is there any fix to this as of now? Thanks

Today the issue has occurred even on a limited account: i've just downloaded the AIMP installer from author's site (aimp_4.13.1893.exe from Aimp.ru) and the Quick Recovery window has not appeared until i've closed the browser and the sandbox has not been automatically emptied on Chrome's exit. The trick of opening/switching to a new browser tab instead works flawlessly.

5.17.7 has been released. We want to get out 5.18 ASAP due to Win 10 Creators update being released. So this is scheduled to become the RC tomorrow (4/13/17) and the stable release 5.18 on Friday (4/14/17).

5.17.7 is working with the Creator's Update with Firefox 64, but when I try to run Chrome 64 the extensions all crash and I get this error:

Antivirus is Norton Security. The extensions that receive error messages in Chrome are:

I have seen that videos on some sites are not loading. The console reports that video/mp4 cannot find any decoders. Running firefox outside of sandbox works fine.

We are aware of issues with H 264 codec + Firefox x64 [http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 60#p127225]
I tested the site you posted with both FF 64 and 32 and did not experience any issues playing the videos.

Can you please try a New Sandbox and see if the issue follows you there?
If so, try creating a new Firefox profile / clearing the cache and see if the problem persists.
Also, make sure Firefox is fully updated (outside Sandboxie).

Do you have any Addons or Antivirus software installed?

Try launching Chrome without any extensions to see if that helps you to run it Sandboxed. If it does, start re-activating one by one until you find the offender.
I will try to test as many as I can today.
If the extensions are not causing the problem, you may need to look at Norton:

Tested 5.17.7 in both Win 7 x64 and Win10 Pro CU No problems with either.

Barb, I disabled all Chrome extension but I am still getting the SBIE2101 errors. Also, I checked Norton, and I'd already disabled the two settings mentioned in the link. Sandboxie, Chrome, and Norton were all working fine together until I installed the Creator's Update. Installing the betas (5.17.6 and then 5.17.7) allowed Firefox and Chrome to open but Chrome had these issues.

I tested restarting firefox in safe mode, within the sandbox, and it still failed, no extensions. I ran Firefox in regular mode (as I always do) but outside of a sandbox and it worked fine. I tried a different computer, different profile, same thing. I did not see those posts when I posted mine or I would not have added to it. Most videos work fine, so I suspect it is the same issue. I will try a new sandbox, but since different computers are exhibiting the same behavior, I suspect it is not the same issue.

I am running with some addons, but again, safe mode presents the same issue. I am running Windows Defender on one machine, Sophos AV on the other. The only thing in common is that the problem exists when sandboxed, not when outside of sandbox. As I said, it is probably related to the other posts, so I will sit tight and wait for a fix.
