Windows 8.1 x86 update - KB4093114 / SBIE2331 Access is denied. - SBIE 5.24 [FIXED in Beta 5.25.1]

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro x32 and since a Windows update last night Sandboxie 5.24 has stopped working!
It won't start, displaying message "SBIE2331 Service start failed: [22/5] Access is denied."
I am only running Windows Firewall and Defender as protection.
I have tried reinstalling sandboxie to no effect.

I am currently downloading the latest updates for Win 8.1 x86.

In the meantime, can you provide the KB#s involved?
Is secure boot enabled?

i have the same issue, win 8.1 32x,

windows updated 14th of may,
kb4093114, kb2976978 may be related..

is there any workaround for this?

I finished updating/testing. The culprit seems to be KB4093114 and it affects Windows 8.1 x86 only (x64 worked fine after applying that update).
I have made the devs aware.

Other than removing the KB, there is no workaround at this time.

Is there no end to MS incompetence? Have they never heard of testing? It's not like Sandboxie is some insignificant, obscure product.

I have the same issues. Was running SBIE 5.22 on W8.1 x32 and applied KB4093114. Sandboxie no longer worked. Received message "SBIE2331 Service start failed". Upgraded to SBIE 5.24 and Sandboxie still failed. Uninstalled KB4093114 and Sandboxie now working fine.

Awaiting for direction from Sandboxie...

BTW, Sandboxie is an awesome product, Won't browse without it!

I installed the Sanboxie 5.25.1 Beta from the above link. Sandboxie worked okay.
I then reinstalled KB4093114 and Sandboxie continues to work okay.

So far so good.
