Quick Recover Message At Exit
Over the past few weeks I have started to get the Quick Recovery dialogue pop-up asking me what to do with certain downloads - files, images - when I exit Firefox and shut down for the day (or a session).
The files I downloaded are already recovered immediately, they are visible where they were downloaded to; I have both Quick and Immediate recovery checked, have forever.
I haven't changed any setting, still running 5.22 64 Bit.
Why might this be happening now?
Any suggestions on how to fix this is appreciated...
Thanks.

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
My friend from Chicago, I hope you are doing well. Since you have Immediate recovery ticked in Sandbox settings, it is normal for you to get prompted to recover immediately after downloads have finished downloading but you shouldn't be getting the Quick recovery window when you close and exit the browser, unless you didn't recover some file/s when you got prompted earlier by Immediate recovery.
I would suggest to update to version 5.24 but I think I read you said in one of your posts that you are using W7 without SP1.
Good seeing you (and congrats about your Cubs impressive come from behind win over my Braves yesterday).

Perhaps your sandbox got corrupted, some setting might be messing things up. You should try a new sandbox. Create one and test it at first with default settings.windyctyprog wrote: ↑Sun Apr 15, 2018 7:16 pm

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
Bo,
How are you? Good, I trust.
Cubs were a lot of fun, yep, last year they ran out of gas, very tired during the playoffs. This year, looks pretty good thus far, but very early and the weather is horrible.
Greg and Butch, 2017 a sad year.
I will follow your advice.Yes, no SP1, so 5.22 is my current version. I'll deal with that later.
Process questions:
How can I save my existing settings to use when I build a new sandbox?
Or does it automatically repopulate if I delete and reinstall?
I'm glad we caught up.
Keep you posted.

Hello windyctyprog,
You can copy the settings from Sandbox to Sandbox following these steps:
https://www.sandboxie.com/SandboxMenu#create
Regarding exporting/importing the settings, please have a look at this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=13490#p83141
Here's more information regarding the Sandboxie configuration file:

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
Windy, for testing the new sandbox, you ll probably want to test using the new sandbox with default settings. If some setting is messing things up in the old sandbox for you, and you copy settings when you create the new sandbox or reinstall SBIE saving settings, then you ll probably end up with same glitch. So, you want to test the new sandbox with default settings, to see if recovery works as is supposed to.windyctyprog wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 6:43 amHow can I save my existing settings to use when I build a new sandbox?

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
Bo,
I hope you're well...
I followed the instructions in this thread, still having issues.
Everything is downloading correctly to my default location, my desktop, no issues with immediate recovery whatsoever.
But, SBIE is still asking me what to do with files or images that have already been recovered throughout the course of the day when I exit my browser.
What should I be looking for in my settings?
Once you helped me with the original implementation, I haven't changed any setting.
Stumped.
Thanks, in advance.

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
Windycty, perhaps you should uninstall Sandboxie and reinstall. Dont save settings, you want to get rid of old settings. Run the installer and select Uninstall, and reinstall afterward.
Do that if you already tested using a new sandbox with default settings.
You could also copy and paste here your Sandboxie settings, perhaps someone can catch what the issue is by looking at them.
Sandboxie control>Configure>Edit configuration
After pasting it, highlight the result and click </>.

Bo,
Thanks - time to uninstall and install, see how that goes and report back.
In the interim, take a look:

Re: Quick Recover Message At Exit
Bo,
Seems to be working, but I have issues based on the new installation and I'm not sure how to fix it...
I'm testing out Waterfox, latest version, now I can't save bookmarks.
When I exit it now deletes the the bookmarks, deletes history, reverses options I changed like opening PDFs.
I looked for solutions in the forum, I tried a few, nothing seems to work.
Can you please point me in the right direction?

Bo,
I think I found the solution. There was thread from a few years ago about this issue, added the wildcards for the entire Firefox group, seems to work.
Creeping up on 70, still running my business, takes me longer to think through things, getting crankier.
I'll keep you posted...
Thank you, as always, for the assistance.

You could also check this settings, I am not familiar with Waterfox but if the settings are up to date, they should work.windyctyprog wrote: ↑Sun Apr 22, 2018 5:42 pmBo,

Sandbox settings>Applications>Wen browser>Firefox
And look for the options for Waterfox to allow what you want out. For, bookmarks and history, you tick allow access to Waterfox bookmarks and history database.

Bo,
All checked, shouldn't be an issue.
Using multiple browsers, Quantum and Waterfox, nothing else.
Thank you.
