New Beta [SOLVED]

Post by TomTom88 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 6:04 pm

Hello folks,
when can we expect a new Beta of Sandboxie (5.25?)? Fact of the matter is that even with official v5.24 Sandboxie performs VERY sluggish upon closing web-browsers (Opera, Chrome) and their associated programs after closing an internet-session (here on a LENOVO-Laptop with all the latest Windows10-updates) and for instance CNN-Videos will not play at all ("Something went wrong during native playback") - while playing like a charm outside the sandbox.

greetings
TomTom

Hello TomTom88,

We are currently working on a new beta in order to address major issues (such as the Windows 8.1 problem, or the reg hive one).

Regarding your issue, if you need to report a problem, please follow these guidelines so that we can test the scenario and assist you (be sure to post it in the Problem Reports section (viewforum.php?f=11 )) :

There is a known issue for Opera and streaming videos:

Barb.-

Thanks for the new Beta! Seems as if it would make opening and closing browsers a LITTLE less sluggish - but still a far cry from where Sandboxie has been in the "good old days", before some dubious Windows OS-"upgrades".

Not sure about this - if it's good news or bad, that is! On one hand it's kind of nice to know about a possible culprit (MFDemuxer), on the other hand I'm a bit devastated to learn that this "known issue" has been unresolved, probably since Opera 45/49, which sounds like kind of forever.

Hello TomTom88,

If you would like to report a problem, please follow the guidelines I provided on my previous response.
Be sure to also use the same guidelines to search the forums for existing issues / workarounds.
