What do you make of this:
"The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox
running on your computer, and then restart Firefox again"
The above is for the Tor browser and I have normal Firefox running simultaneously (with no problems),
Both are open and running. My question is how do I get rid of the above error message if I don't want to update the
tor browser. Obviously it's got to do with an update.

Re-installing SBIE issues after a "software update failed" error msg
I wasn't able to add this to the above post - there was no edit icon visible - anyway:
when the above occurs, sbie won't re-install, uninstall's ok though; I restart OS and tried re-installing but wouldn't; I shutdown the computer and then it re-installs fine. Just wondering what's going on here and how to fix it?

Re: software update failed
I have this exact issue with Sandboxie and Tor Browser, I just can't update it
Easy to reproduce: Download and install an older version of Tor Browser inside the sandbox, then you just follow the reinstall prompts. Eventually Tor Browser will shutdown when you press restart, it won't start automatically again and when you run it the next time it will complain that the update failed.

Hello BatmanCatman,
See if these threads help:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=21294
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=22299
Otherwise, please provide the required info viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19746, and also include your Sandboxie configuration file (Configure-->Edit configuration. Copy/pate the contents here, highlight them and click on the "</>" button to format them).
Are you using any templates?
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: software update failed
I have Tor Browser installed inside of Sandboxie, unlike those two, so deleting the sandbox or moving TB outside to update seems kind of.. meh. I'm aware that a Sandbox is just temporary storage, but I never erase anything in my Tor Browser Sandbox simply because nothing is ever written to it.
This is my config:

Hello BatmanCatman,
Try removing this: (or test a new Sandbox with default settings):
DropAdminRights=y
Otherwise, please see these thread regarding which browsers are tested/supported to install inside Sbie:

Here's a user suggestion regarding Tor and another one for Firefox:
