Good Day
I have been trying to work around a issue i have been having the last couple of days and i cant seem to get it to work.
The problem i been having is when trying to run steam through sandboxie i get an error while trying to load up steam. First error is it wont connect to the network, second is when i run it as administrator it gives me can't write to install dir.
I can open Chrome and use the internet throught sandboxie but steam wont use the internet... i am lost
Currently running windows 10 64 bit
16g ram
AMD fx-8370 eight-core processor @ 4.00 ghz
If there is anything anyone can think of or know that will enable me to run a second steam account please let me know

What is your Sandboxie version?
Is there an antivirus software involved?
Does Steam work outside Sandboxie?
Please be sure to download the latest Sandboxie 5.22 version:
https://www.sandboxie.com/DownloadSandboxie
Then, update Steam outside Sandboxie and ensure it launches (and that all games are up-to-date), re-test sandboxing Steam by creating a new Sandbox with default settings.
Steam needs to run as administrator inside Sandboxie in order to work correctly.

What's the Sandboxie version that you are using?
Did you try creating a new Sandbox with default settings?
I am having no issues launching Steam in Sandboxie 5.22 + Windows 10 x64 FCU

Without the exact information I asked for (including sofrware versions) I cannot test the scenario.
Also, if you could post your Sandboxie configuration file and the output of the Resource Access Monitor (using a new sandbox), we might be able to find more details.
For the sandboxie config file go to Configure--> Edit configuration
Copy/paste the contents to your response, highlight them and click on the "</>" button to format it.
For Resource Access Monitor, please follow these guidelines, then post the output here following the same formatting requirements listed above.

It looks like your Steam installation is on a network drive. Is this correct?
If yes, you may need to give Direct Access to your network drive location. For more information right-click on your Sandbox--> Sandbox settings --> Restrictions --> Network files
If you need to open a path to the drive (for read / write access) you can use this example
Sandbox Settings -> Resource Access -> File Access
Choose the level of access you want to provide, apply it and okay your way out.

this maybe wrong but my files are on a SSD isolated on my computer there is no network files but i will try what you have explained and get back to you

Hello Heak,
Try opening the path to your E drive (I am assuming that's your SSD) using a new Sandbox with default settings.
If that fails, re-post your new Configuration File + Resource Access Monitor.

It looks like you added the changes to your Steam Sandbox.
Please add the direct path to your new sandbox (the one created with default settings), and re-test the behavior.
If that still fails with the same error, can you try installing Steam on another drive and see if it launches Sandboxed?
Are there any other security programs or policies taking place on your computer?

FYI
I found the issue. Since i couldn't install steam onto another drive i installed SandBoxie on another drive and PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So in all SandBoxie and Steam CAN NOT be on the same drive.
